Vostok - Wostok
Vostok (spelled Wostok on export models) is the toughest branch of Soviet watchmaking. The factory arrived in Chistopol, Tatarstan by evacuation train in 1941, ahead of the German advance, and never left. From 1965 it was an official supplier to the USSR Ministry of Defence — the Komandirskie commander’s watches and the ingenious Amphibia divers were built for soldiers first and collectors only by accident. The movements are famously hard to kill and easy to service half a century later. Every Vostok here is serviced, tested and photographed individually — and if you’re choosing your first Soviet watch, our Vostok vs Raketa guide settles the eternal question.
