Where We Ship From
Sovietwatchstore.com is a purely online store operating out of our warehouse in Ukraine. We have been shipping vintage Soviet and Japanese watches worldwide since 2016.
Shipping Methods & Cost
We ship worldwide via airmail with the national postal operator Ukrposhta. Every package is sent with a tracking number, traceable online on the Ukrposhta tracking page.
Economy shipping is free on all orders over $100 — and on orders over $250 to the European Union, where we now prepay EU customs charges. Clocks are the one exception: they weigh several times what a wristwatch does, so they carry their own shipping rate and are not covered by free shipping.
FedEx Express is also available to most destinations (except the USA and the European Union — see below). Express takes about 7 working days to most destinations worldwide, plus about 4–5 days for the package to reach the FedEx branch in Poland. For EU destinations we offer EMS Express Mail Service instead.
Shipping options to the USA
- Economy (Ukrposhta) — $9.95. Usually dispatched within 24 hours.
- Free Economy (Ukrposhta) — free on orders over $100. Dispatched within a week.
- EMS Express Mail Service — $39.95. The fastest option we offer to the USA.
- Clocks add $18.00 to the Economy rate and are not eligible for free shipping.
Shipping options to the European Union
- Economy (Ukrposhta) — $18.95. Usually dispatched within 24 hours.
- Free Economy (Ukrposhta) — free on orders over $250. Dispatched within a week.
- EMS Express Mail Service — $49.95. The fastest option we offer to the EU.
- Clocks add $18.00 to the Economy rate and are not eligible for free shipping.
EU rates were increased on August 9, 2026 to cover the new EU customs charges described below. FedEx is not available to EU destinations.
Handling Time
Orders are packed and dispatched within 1–3 business days. You will receive your tracking number by email as soon as the package ships.
Delivery Times
International packages are usually delivered within 2–3 weeks of dispatch. Occasionally customs processing can add time; if your package seems delayed, contact us and we will investigate with the carrier.
USA: Duties Prepaid — No Surprises at Delivery
The United States has ended its de minimis exemption, so every parcel entering the country now owes import duty whatever it is worth. Since September 5, 2025 all our shipments to the United States and its overseas territories (Puerto Rico, Saipan, Guam) have gone on a Duty Prepaid (DDP) basis.
We collect a prepaid US import duty of 5% of the item value at checkout and settle with US customs ourselves, so your parcel is delivered with nothing further to pay — no duty, no brokerage, and no handling charge on the doorstep. We reduced this rate from 17% in August 2026 to match the current US tariff schedule.
As a result, no additional payments are required upon delivery.
Please note: FedEx shipping to the USA is not available — all US orders ship via Ukrposhta airmail with duties prepaid.
European Union: What Changed on July 1, 2026
The European Union has ended its €150 duty-free exemption. Every parcel entering the EU now owes import VAT at the destination country’s rate, plus a flat €3 EU customs duty per item on orders up to €150 and a small postal processing fee.
Germany, Denmark, Spain and Malta — prepaid, nothing to pay on delivery. Import VAT is collected at checkout and we settle it, together with the customs duty and the processing fee, before your parcel leaves Ukraine.
All other EU countries — VAT is collected on delivery. Ukrposhta cannot yet prepay VAT to these destinations. We pay the EU customs duty and the postal processing fee ourselves wherever the rules allow, but your national postal operator will collect import VAT at your country’s rate (17–27%) before handing the parcel over, usually together with its own service fee of roughly €1.30–€7.00 (Czechia is the outlier, at about €14.50). You will normally receive a payment link by SMS or email.
We are working to extend prepayment to more EU countries and will update this page as they become available.
Taxes & Duties (Other Destinations)
For destinations outside the USA and the European Union, any import taxes, duties, and customs fees are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in the item price or shipping cost.
