Soviet mechanical Wostok (Vostok) wrist watch with date, 17 jewels
MADE IN USSR!
A black dial that fades into warm brown towards 6 o’clock, with large luminous Arabic numerals, a white outer minute track numbered every five minutes and a framed date window at 3 o’clock. The dial is signed “Восток” (Vostok) in Cyrillic, with “17 камней” (17 jewels) and “Сделано в СССР” (Made in USSR).
Manufactured by the Chistopol Watch Factory “Vostok”, USSR.
The original passport identifies the watch as Vostok 2414A and carries the factory release stamp of November 1989; the shop’s sale entry is dated December 1989. The case back number (677522) matches the watch number written into the passport.
The case is chrome-plated with a stainless steel case back. The dial and luminous numerals are clean; the chrome shows light wear and the case back carries fine scratches from use.
The watch is mechanical and does not need batteries to operate.
Original Soviet Wostok watch has mechanical lever movement and manual winding. Caliber 2414A has central seconds, shock protection for the balance and an instant-change date; the passport rates it for at least 38 hours on a full wind.

About the watch factory
Watch Factory “Vostok” – began as the “2nd State Watch Factory” was evacuated during World War 2 to Chistopol in 1941.
In 1943 began producing Kirovskie watch – first Soviet man’s wrist watch earlier made on 1st Moscow Watch Factory. From 1949 famous “Pobeda” watches were made here.
From 1965 “Commander’s” watch Vostok were made on the factory.
Since 1965 factory was official supplier of Ministry of Defence, all watches produced were branded as “Vostok”
