Description
Soviet mechanical Raketa wrist watch with cream two-tone dial and Breguet-style Arabic numerals
MADE IN USSR!
Raketa (Ракета, meaning “Rocket”) with a two-tone cream dial: a lightly textured outer ring carrying full black Breguet-style Arabic numerals 1 to 12 and a printed minute track, around a centre disc with a fine linear pattern framed by a thin copper-coloured ring. Black hands with a slim black centre seconds hand. The dial is signed “Ракета” in script above the centre, carries the Soviet State Quality Mark below it, and reads “СДЕЛАНО В СССР” (Made in USSR) above the 6.
The round chrome-plated case has a slim polished bezel, straight lugs and a plain steel snap-on case back carrying only a number (118909).
Manufactured at the Petrodvorets Watch Factory, USSR. The State Quality Mark was introduced in 1967 and the “СДЕЛАНО В СССР” marking dates it to before the end of the Soviet Union in 1991; the style points to the 1970s–80s.
The watch is mechanical and does not need batteries to operate.
Original Soviet Raketa watch has mechanical lever movement and manual winding. Caliber 2609.HA (stamped on the bridge) is the Petrodvorets 19-jewel movement with centre seconds.
