About This Set
A space-themed gift set built around a boxed tube of Kosmopit (КОСМОПИТ) cosmonaut food, the “space food” sold in Russian museum and planetarium shops. It is joined by a Soviet «Впервые в мире» (“First in the World”) postcard folder on the history of Soviet space flight, and a small turned-aluminium rocket.
What Is in the Set
- Kosmopit space food packaging, boxed: an empty 165 g aluminium tube for mushroom cream soup (крем-суп грибной), in its rocket-window carton. The box says it was developed together with VNIITeK to an original 1978 recipe. The tube is packed with a Kosmopit alcohol wipe, a Kosmopit flameless food heater and the instruction insert. The museum price sticker (450 roubles) is still on the base; it comes from the shop of the K. E. Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics in Kaluga.
- «Впервые в мире» postcard folder: a Soviet folder of large-format picture cards, with Yuri Gagarin and the Monument to the Conquerors of Space on the cover. The contents list runs through 21 topics, from Tsiolkovsky and the first Sputniks to Vostok, the first spacewalk, Salyut, Soyuz–Apollo, the Halley’s Comet probes and the Mir station. Each card has photographs on the front and an explanatory text on the back, all in Russian.
- Aluminium rocket: a turned-aluminium rocket with four bronze-tone engine nozzles and ribbed bands around the body.
Please Note — the Tube Is Empty
The soup tube is empty: this is the original cosmonaut-food packaging kept as a souvenir, not food.
Condition Report
The carton has been opened and shows creases, scuffs and a torn top flap where the seal sticker was lifted. The empty tube is creased from handling. The postcard folder is worn at the edges and spine, with scuffs on the cover. The aluminium rocket shows light surface marks and dulling; two small pins stick out of its body, probably where it was once fixed to a stand, which is not included.
