Description
Vostok Komandirskie (“Commander’s”) watch — 17 jewels
MADE IN USSR!
Manufactured at the Chistopol Watch Factory “Vostok”, USSR.
Командирские (Komandirskie) means “Commander’s”. The watch was built to a Soviet Ministry of Defence specification rather than sold as an ordinary civilian model.
“Заказ МО СССР” on the dial reads “Ordered by the Ministry of Defence of the USSR”. Watches carrying that marking were distributed through Voentorg military stores to servicemen with identification, rather than sold over the counter to the general public.
About the Komandirskie Line
The Chistopol Watch Factory was appointed official supplier to the USSR Ministry of Defence in 1965, and the Komandirskie was created that same year. The experience gained developing the army watch led directly to the Amphibia in 1967 — the stainless-steel diver rated to 200 metres (20 atm).
About This Watch
A Vostok Komandirskie in the chrome-plated round case with a crown-guard shoulder at 3 o’clock. The black dial has large lumed Arabic numerals, cream lume dots at the minutes, a red star below centre and a date window at 3. It is signed with the Vostok В logo, the Командирские script, «17 камней» and «Заказ МО СССР» at the bottom. Lumed sword hands. The rotating bezel has the notched insert with a red quarter, a red pip at 12 and black triangles at 3, 6 and 9.
The screw-down steel case back reads «Сделано в СССР · Восток · Водонепроницаемые» (Made in USSR · Vostok · Water-resistant) and serial 671604. Inside is a Vostok 17-jewel manual-wind calibre with date. No calibre stamp is visible in the photos; the working date and the bridge layout identify it as the 2414A.

Condition Report
The black dial is in good order with crisp printing. The lume dots have aged to an even cream, and the red star has faded to a soft salmon tone. The hands match the dial. The bezel turns. Its insert shows wear on the edges, with small spots of plating loss between 1 and 2 o’clock. The chrome plating on the case is worn at the edges and lug tips, where brass shows through, and the back ring carries scratches, as is normal for a plated Komandirskie of this age. The acrylic crystal has been polished and is clear.
