Description
Vostok Komandirskie (“Commander’s”) watch — 17 jewels
MADE IN USSR!
Manufactured at the Chistopol Watch Factory “Vostok”, USSR.
Командирские (Komandirskie) means “Commander’s”. The watch was built to a Soviet Ministry of Defence specification rather than sold as an ordinary civilian model.
“Заказ МО СССР” on the dial reads “Ordered by the Ministry of Defence of the USSR”. Watches carrying that marking were distributed through Voentorg military stores to servicemen with identification, rather than sold over the counter to the general public.
About the Komandirskie Line
The Chistopol Watch Factory was appointed official supplier to the USSR Ministry of Defence in 1965, and the Komandirskie was created that same year. The experience gained developing the army watch led directly to the Amphibia in 1967 — the stainless-steel diver rated to 200 metres (20 atm).

Condition Report
The black dial is in good order with crisp printing and a bright red star. The lume on the dots and hands has aged to an even cream. The bezel turns; its insert shows light wear on the raised edges. The chrome-plated case presents well from the front, with light wear at the edges, and the back ring and flanks carry the usual scratches from wear. The acrylic crystal is clear. The box and passport show their age: the passport has folds, a small hole in the middle panel and a torn edge on one coupon, and the box has light scratches. Everything is as shown in the photos.

Why Collectors Want This Watch Today
The Komandirskie is the classic Soviet army watch: built to a Ministry of Defence specification, simple to service and tough enough for daily wear. The black dial with big lumed numerals and the red star is the look most people picture when they think of a Soviet military watch, and the «Заказ МО СССР» line ties it to the army order. Complete sets with the original box and a passport whose number matches the case back turn up far less often than the watch alone, and the passport dates this one to February 1988.
