Description
Raketa perpetual calendar mechanical wrist watch with «Командирские» (Komandirskie) tank dial
MADE IN RUSSIA
Champagne-grey sunburst dial with a green tank above the centre, a red star and the word «КОМАНДИРСКИЕ» (“Commander’s”) printed in white, and square applied markers at the hours. Gold-tone baton hands and a gold-tone centre seconds hand. The day and date sit in a framed window at 3 o’clock, with the day disc in Russian (ВСК = Sunday).
The dial carries a perpetual-calendar table: a grid of weekdays and dates across the top, and a month table above a rotating year ring at 6 o’clock, turned by the second crown at 4 o’clock. Line up the current year and month and the table tells you which weekday falls on which date.
The gold-plated case is round with broad faceted shoulders at the lugs, fitted with a mineral crystal and a plain steel snap-on case back stamped with the serial number 741.
Movement manufactured at the Petrodvorets Watch Factory (the factory logo is stamped on the bridge). The year ring on the dial runs from 2006 to 2012, which places this watch in the mid-2000s; the movement still carries the “SU” (Soviet Union) stamp, so it is a Soviet-era movement in a post-Soviet watch.
The watch is mechanical and does not need batteries to operate.
Original Raketa watch has mechanical lever movement and manual winding. Caliber 2628.H (stamped on the bridge) is the Petrodvorets 19-jewel movement with centre seconds and a day / date calendar.

About the watch factory

The Petrodvorets Watch Factory «Raketa» was founded by Peter the Great in 1721. Factory was producing wide range of items, including jewels for watches since 1930.
Factory was devastated during World War 2, restored in 1949 and was making “Pobeda”(Victory) and “Zvezda” watches. In 1954 renamed into Petrodvorets Watch Factory.
Since 1962 “Raketa” watches are produced which became the trade mark of the factory.
The Petrodvorets Watch Factory is one of the rare watch factories in the world that fully manufactures its own movements from A to Z, including hairspring and escapement.
Other band names produced on the factory include Baltika, Leningrad, Mayak, Neva, Pobeda, Raketa, Rossiya, Svet, Start.
