Vostok - Amphibia 200m
The Vostok Amphibia is that rarest thing: a Soviet answer that out-engineered the question. Needing a 200m dive watch in 1967 but unwilling to license patented Swiss designs, Chistopol’s engineers made water pressure do the work — the deeper an Amphibia goes, the tighter its case back presses against the seal. Add a thick domed acrylic crystal that flexes instead of cracking, and you have a dive watch design so sound it has stayed in production for six decades. Vintage examples are wonderfully wearable — though half-century-old gaskets mean you should treat the diving part as history, not an invitation. Every Amphibia here is serviced, tested and honestly described.
