Manufactured on Petrodvortsovsky watch factory, USSR<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Mayak brand (<\/span>\u041c\u0430\u044f\u043a, meaning “lighthouse”) was produced primarily by Petrodvorets Watch Factory, but also by\u00a0First Moscow Watch Factory. It’s generally possible to tell which factory manufactured a given Mayak, as Petrodvorets usually put their\u00a0company logo<\/a>\u00a0on the dial, while 1MWF omitted this feature. All watches relied on the caliber 2603 movement, a shockproofed version of the ubiquitous Pobeda caliber.<\/p>\n

\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n

The Mayak brand was retired around 1962, when\u00a0the vast majority of Petrodvorets Watch Factory brands were consolidated under a single trademark:\u00a0Raketa<\/a>. Similar watches continued to be produced thereafter, but only under the Raketa name.<\/span><\/p>\n
